تکوین پدرسالاری، اثر گِردا لِرنِر

اگر بنا باشد از کل کتاب ارزشمند گردا لرنر، «تکوین پدرسالاری»، نکته‌ای را برگزینم و با شما به اشتراک بگذارم، آن نکته در این دو جمله نهفته است: «تاریخ زنان، مانند تاریخ مردان گروه‌های تحت انقیاد و ستم، حاوی مبارزات آنان برای رهایی و آزادی از اجبار است. اما زنان، درمقایسه‌با مردان، علیه گونه‌های متفاوتی از ستم و سلطه مبارزه کرده‌اند و مبارزاتشان تا امروز از مبارزات مردان عقب مانده است.»

آیا این نگاه برای تمام گروه‌های به‌حاشیه‌راندهٔ گوناگون صادق نیست؟ آیا این همان چیزی نیست که ما در تمام روابطمان با دیگران کم داریم؟ آیا قرار نیست همدلی راستین هم‌این‌چنین باشد؟ که این حقیقت بنیادین را درک کنیم که «گوناگونیِ در انقیاد گوناگونیِ در رهایی می‌طلبد».

بنابراین، این چند خط را اینجا برای خودم و بعد برای شما می‌نویسم: دریافتن «گوناگونی» فقط منوط به یافتن و پذیرفتن تفاوت‌های ما با دیگران نیست، بلکه وابسته است به به‌رسمیت‌شناختن و اذعان‌کردن به این واقعیت که مبارزه‌های ما برای رسیدن به رهایی مشابه هم نیست.

ما برای رسیدن به رهایی به گفت‌وگوهای بسیار عمیق‌تر و طولانی‌تری نیاز داریم.

If I were to select only one point to share with you from Gerda Lerner’s significant book, The Creation of Patriarchy, it would be conveyed in these sentences: “For women, as for men of subordinate and oppressed groups, history consisted of their struggle for emancipation and freedom from necessity. But women struggled against different forms of oppression and dominance than did men, and their struggle, up to this time, has lagged behind that of men.” (214)

Well, doesn’t this apply to all diverse marginalised communities? Isn’t this what we lack in all of our interactions with each other? Isn’t this what true empathy should resemble? To comprehend this fundamental truth: diversity in subjugation demands diversity in emancipation.

Therefore, I am writing this piece here for myself and then for you: to realize diversity is not only to inspect and accept our distinctions with others, but also to recognize and acknowledge the fact that our emancipation struggles are not analogous.

To emancipate all, we need deeper and longer conversations.
